DABOII FOLLOWS NEW ALBUM WITH A CREATIVE LYRICAL LEMONADE-THEMED VIDEO FOR “COLE BENNETT” FT. YOUNG

DaBoii continues to apply pressure with a clever new music video for the hard-hitting “Cole Bennett” feat. Young Slo-Be - one of many standouts off his recent album, Can’t Tame Us.

The track itself is instantly magnetic and a clear standout on a project full of bangers, built around a catchy hook and an insanely punchy beat (prod by Riqgotheat) that feels like it combines all the best signature elements of west coast and Detroit production. DaBoii is at his best on “Cole Bennett,” effortlessly gliding over the captivating production with his intensely Cali delivery - weaving tightly packed bars about his off-camera adventures before Slo-Be slides with a killer, laidback verse of his own.

The video (directed by SuzyMadeIt) somehow goes just as hard as the song, with multiple nods at the influential Lyrical Lemonade founder it’s named after. The highlight would definitely have to be DaBoii doing his best Cole Bennett impression, bobbing with the camera in Cole’s signature chill stance and trucker hat - even sticking his head through the floor to recreate one of the most recognizable Lyrical Lemonade scenes ever from Juice WRLD’s “Lucid Dreams.”

DaBoii has been putting in work for years now, best known for his association with west coast collective SOB x RBE (specifically the SOB part) but really seems to be finding his groove as a solo artist in recent times with a string of impressive releases - sounding hungrier than ever on recent 2021 projects Still Gangin and House Arrest. His latest release, Can’t Tame Us is already shaping up to be his best yet - with features from Drakeo the Ruler, Ralfy the Plug and G Perico and numerous other early standout tracks including “Kick Doe”, “Head Huncho” and “The Deal” feat. Drakeo.

Overall, “Cole Bennett” is a great example of the engaging, creative, and unapologetically west coast style of DaBoii - and hopefully the creative visual will help introduce him to a wider audience.
